Hey all,

is it possible for SQL to be connected to a local and a remote RDB dir
entry?

I will be using Query manager.

for instance:

CONNECT remoteRDB

insert
  into localfile
select *
  from remotefile
 where fld = something

If not, any other brilliant ideas are most welcome.

i don't have the sql product on this box, so SQLRPGLE is out of the
question.

The file is huge, so DDM is probably out of the question - I just want a
small subset of the data extracted from the remote file. That's why I'd
like to use SQL, it runs a ton faster than CPYF.

Thanks!

Rick
