You did not state the application -- manufacturing, warehouse management, loading/receiving dock. Probably the EASIEST way is to bypass the RF entirely, and get a cordless scanner that is like a cordless phone. I connects via a keyboard wedge to a PC (or terminal). You write the program to accept the UPC# or other barcoded info, and use the cordless scanner like another keyboard. This is a great application for a loading or receiving dock, because a PC or terminal is already nearby to do transactions. one sample device --http://www.symbol.com/products/barcode_scanners/barcode_handheld_p370_p470.html a good vendor is -- http://www.systemid.com/index3.asp Tons of info on this site about setting up scanning, wireless scanning, POS, etc. Have fun. >>> mallen@xxxxxxxx 03/31/03 05:35AM >>> Would like recommendations for companies that you have had good luck (and price is right) in setting up a small (4 locations) RF scanning, bar coding system. Mainly need the harrdware and setup, application programming will be handled in house. Mark Allen IS Manager Wilkes Telephone & Electric 11 W.
