If I were you, I'd invest in TAATOOLS from Al Barsa/Jim Sloan.

Subject: Swapping 6607 Drives for 6713 drives on an 9406-S30

We have 20 Model 6607 Drives (roughly 4GB each) in 1 ASP and are moving
to 6713 Drives (roughly 8GB each)

on an 9406-S30 Machine.

IBM says we are not able to "Hot Swap" them on a 1 by 1 basis slowly

because of something to do with different size drives in an ASP or
something like that.

They are going to come out and do the switching of the drives.

But it's up to me to figure out how to re-install them into an ASP and
restore the data from our

system save tape (Go Save Option # 21)

I am being warned also that spoolfiles need to be kept.....so

Option #21 won't help me out there....I need another solution for that.

Do I really have to go through the pain of doing it this way?

Thanks,

Jim
