In the WRKSYSSTS window place your cursor on the value and press F1 to see
the help.

The Jobs in the System means:
The total number of user and system jobs that are currently in the system.
The total includes:
o All jobs on job queues waiting to be processed.
o All jobs currently active (being processed).
o All jobs that have completed running but still have
output on output queues to be produced.

I have never tried to verify that the number shown does add up to the number
of jobs on the system as
the help on the display for the field explains.

I believe it should add up.
Jim

Subject: WRKSYSSTS Problem.... I think

I have several machines on 4.5 and 5.1. I noticed when I do a WRKSYSSTS and
look at the Jobs In System, it shows a number that I have always known as
benig the total number of jobs in the system, ie... spool files, jobs
running... ect. But now I am confused, I just displayed it and it shows:

Jobs in system . . . . . : 3253

When I looks at my WRKACTJOB it shows:

Active jobs: 598

I assume that out fo the 3253 jobs on my system, 598 of them are regular
jobs on the WRKACTJOBS screen, counting some task and hidden jobs not
showing up. So that should at least leave me with 2655 "other" jobs on the
system.When I do a WRKOUTQ I see:

NSMDOWN CSTLX 6377
QPRINT QGPL 3679

this is not counting alot of other queues that have several hundred jobs in
them. I just listed the ones that were in the thousands.

Why doesnt the Jobs In The System total up to any of this now?
