The quickest and cheapest is an immersion process David, like a regional 2
or 3 day  conference.  They are affordable, teach a lot quickly, and foster
a  nice attitude adjustment (the key to learning in any field).
 
The conference coming up in a few weeks in Framingham, Massachusetts is a
great example.  The hotel is wall-towall iSeries bigots, and the entire
conference including fees, meals, and the room is well under $800.   Put he
whole crew in a company van and head to Framingham!
