Re: Problems with adopting authority.

Rob,

I think I have figured it out. In my last note I said "I do not think it is
possible to only adopt some authority from a user profile." After sending
that note I remembered that some functions do not use adopted authority. I
checked Appendix D of the Security Reference Manual for CRTUSRPRF and found
that is says "*OBJMGT authority to the group profile cannot come from
adopted authority".

If you change the public authority of the group profile to *USE or more
than anyone will be able to submit jobs to run under that group profile.

One way you may be able to solve your problem is to use the adopted
authority to swap the user profile of the job, create the user profile, and
then swap back.
