RE: RJE over TCP/IP

RJE will not (currently) work over an Anynet connection to a mainframe.  I
run Anynet on all of my iSeries systems and use RJE to our mainframe for one
application.  I tried to set this up using Anynet when we converted from
token-ring to ethernet a couple of years ago.  You can set up Anynet to the
mainframe, but you cannot define a Host controller with LINKTYPE *ANYNW.

I discussed this at length with supportline, and was told that even if I
could get RJE to work over Anynet it would not be a supported configuration.

I have a customer with an effective and very old RJE-based AS/400-mainframe 
communication arrangement involving programs being automatically invoked 
when stuff arrives with an appropriate form type, etc. This has been doing 
brilliantly for 10 years. Their parent company wants to remove SNA from 
their WAN. I have been poking around for options for them, & have spotted, 
on the midrange-l archive, an old post about Anynet and DLUr possibly being 
an option in that it might allow them to run RJE over TCP/IP, which would 
solve the problem. The mainframe guys are prepared to do what's necessary to

accommodate any such change.
Can anyone provide me with an appropriate Web link that will allow me to 
read up on this? I once had a working knowledge of AS/400 SNA host comms, 
although I haven't thought about it for years and years, and I have a good 
knowledge of Anynet, APPC, APPN etc. on the AS/400. All help gratefully 
received!
