I agree with Joe.

The key idea (no pun intended) is "invariant." 
For a given key value, you should always access 
the same row.  If a delete and RGZPFM occurs, 
the deleted RRNs are compressed out and 
everything else is renumbered.  That will blow 
the invariant nature of the so-called key.

See my reply to Chris.  I'm pretty sure that RRN 
doesn't count because RRN
isn't a data element in the row.  You guys wuold 
have to ask Dr. Codd
whether the RRN can be used as a "primary key" 
in his definition.

My guess is it cannot.  Your guess is as good as 
mine, of course.
