That is what I have setup here. QSYSMSG is used for this as well as a number of other critical system messages IF IT EXISTS. The nice thing about it is these messages don't get "lost" in a busy, highly traficed QSYSOPR ! And as mentioned, you can monitor this message queue and do all kinds of stuff. For the incorrect password/device varied off deal I notify a small number of trusted folks that can reset it (via a command I wrote that carefully monitors and logs this stuff). I also get alerts on critical system messages this way.
