Thanks for the suggestion Kirk. I still have some issues that are not clear to me. If someone can correct me it will be greatly appreciated. These are the issues as I see them. The 820 is last years model and can use the 720 disks etc. The 810 and 825 are this years models and effectively cannot use anything from the 720. Also the 810 has NO supported upgrade path, if you ever need to upgrade it you must buy an entirely new machine (new Serial #), this has horrendous consequences if you have purchased software that is contracted by Serial #. So effectively if you have a 720 you are forced to get an 825. IBM are withdrawing support for the 720, as a business one is obligated to operate software/hardware that is supported by the supplier. The 825 is more than we need. The 810 is a dead end. I need to know what is the projected life span of the 820 and what is the upgrade path from the 820.
