I thought I'd have the whole thing checked out by now and could give a final report but too many alligators have shown up . . .

What I DO know is it's either the wiring in the walls or the switch. No PC works at that wall jack no matter what cable is used. I plugged into a different jack in back of the switch in the wiring closet but just ain't got back there to try it again.
