iSeries Access V5R2 and SSL with OS/400 V5R1?

I am using iSeries Access V5R2 on my PC and have OS/400 V5R1 on the AS/400.  
I'm starting to set up SSL to use with Client Access.  Since I have to install 
Client Access from the AS/400 netserver to get the SSL, is my only option to 
uninstall the V5R2 version from my PC and return to Client Access V5R1?  I 
can't upgrade OS/400 to V5R2 yet because I have some unsupported hardware that 
I need to replace which is not currently in the budget.  All replies will be 
greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
