No, i don't think it will be a + for end users.
They cannot catch up with the technological advance of apple, its too late.
Apple has won the game.
Unix with cd rw, dvd rw, full object oriented techgnology, solid os, opened
with all *nix developpers...
Maybe they can sell linux box as Dell does, but its not what end user wants.

We all know that IBM has made big investments in Linux for the server
environment.  Are they doing anything to promote / advance Linux for the
desktop?
