Shrinking a backup window in BRMS -- MIDRANGE-L

Does anyone have suggestions for shrinking the backup window using BRMS?

Our saves seem to take longer with BRMS than before we implemented, and
we're getting hit with increasing the backup window and system downtime.
Currently, our backups occur at 3:00am, and end around 5:30am. We utilize
the console monitor (running on the system console) for unattended backups.
Running a 720 with a Magstar 3570-B01 (in library mode), V4R5.

How does SWA work with BRMS and unattended backups?
