A lot of the courts in Michigan use AS/400s. I work for the 3rd Circuit Court which handles cases for Detroit (one of the busiest courts in the country). We use the AS/400 to process criminal cases for adult and juvenile offenders, process bonds, and to run clinic software for juveniles. The criminal and bond software is all homegrown. The basis for the applications was originally written on a Sys/38. The clinic uses a package called R&L (I don't know much about this package). We used to run Kronos from the AS/400, but migrated to a network solution (big mistake).
