Here is something I did for one of our managers that didn't cost anything but a little of my time and kept him happy. We use Client Access Express to connect all of our users. I run a query on the job scheduler each night that produces a file on the 400 with the information he wants. On his pc I created an XLS that uses the Client Access ODBC driver (read only) to access this file and update it every time he opens the spreadsheet. Optionally you can have it update only when he clicks on the refresh button. >>> meovino@estes-express.com 02/07/03 08:57AM >>> Does anyone know of any packages out there that will allow you to create XLS files from PF's? CSV won't work here, the user absolutely, positively will not accept anything but an honest-to-god XLS file. And we want to generate and e-mail the XLS file with no user intervention, so the package would need a command interface. I know about SEQUEL, but my boss thinks it's too pricey. I'm working on learning Java, so I once I feel comfortable with it, I suppose I could use HSSF, but I'm going to scare people if I make them call Java programs from RPG.
