I noticed the iSeries Handbook for V5R2 listed 5733-AS3 Std Edition 3.5 so
thought that was supported?
I just downloaded the new Jan 2003 version of the V5R2 edition of the
iSeries System Handbook and it lists WebSphere Express (5722-IWE) instead
of WAS Std Edition 3.5, says it replaces 5733-AS3 and that it is available
Feb 21, 2003 so thought the 3.5 Std Edition must be stiill supported on
V5R2 as you can't yet get 5722-IWE ?

Can anyone confirm Joe's suspicions that V5R2 won't run WAS Standard 3.5 ?

WebSphere Standard 3.5 runs fine on V5R1. It has been reported that
WebSphere no longer runs on V5R2 by design... that is, IBM did something
in
V5R2 to stop WebSphere SE from running. The replacement is WebSphere
Express. WAS5X (as we are calling it) is due to be announced for V5R2 in
February and for V5R1 in March.

We are telling our WAS35SE clients to upgrade to V5R1, migrate to WAS5X,
and
then upgrade to V5R2.

Joe
