I know this topic has been discussed a thousand times, but I need some clarification. We are setting up a new UPS. In testing the new cable and get the following messages: System utility power failed at 030131101828. System utility power restored at 030131102018. Are these the right messages? Or do these messages have the same glamour as most IBM messages. Also why does it take so long to realize that the power is back on? As soon as the message came on we turned power back on. There is a span there of over 1 min. In our testing we accidentally brought it down twice in our testing (oops). However it is just a domino server for one application so not a HUGE deal. When it came up it did an abnormal IPL. Is this right? How does the system get shut down? Also, I am looking for experience here. Our new UPS will last for 12 mins at max load, now obviously we aren't near max load. What would you suggest for delay time? I was thinking about 8 mins or so. Thoughts? Thanks for your help Mike Wills
