The error condition is temporary, however, and the action may be requested again. 426 Connection closed, transfer aborted. I guess the very uninformative (and misleading) 426 threw me off. 400 codes are supposed to be temporary errors (like server overload) but my problem was that the save file was invalid (a few bytes too big).
