Srini, To start with I wish to inform you I am a vendor and we sell a range of modules to assist with automated testing of applications. There are a number of options where our products can assist you. 1) You can extract and protect some test data and then "warp" the dates you wish to test back and forth in time. 2) You can input variable data within a test script from a file or an spreadsheet during the running of the script. Both of these options can be run interactively or in batch and if you are combining your testing with a Change Management tool we have users exits which allow you to use API calls to automatically test a program or application prior to promotion within the CM tool - all while you are out or working on something else! Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Sreenivas , Gurgaon Sent: 28 January 2003 11:18 To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Retrieve System Date Hi, I have a requirement where a team of developers are testing the application, and each has to be testing the application with different system dates. The application is a mix of RPG/CLP/COBOl(CICS/400,SQL). Is there some exit point where i could register my program to retrieve the System date from a file by user, or any other approach? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance Srini _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
