This is very bizarre.

I did the following:

PWRDWNSYS OPTION(*IMMED) RESTART(*YES) IPLSRC(D)

with my I_BASE_01 disk in the optical drive.  The machine hunkered down and
IPLed for a while.  I expected that the next thing I would see would be the
Licensed Internal Code - Status display and then the machine would ask for a
bunch more disks.

It did not.  Instead, the next thing I saw was a signon screen on the
console.

So I logged on as QSECOFR, and did a WRKACTJOB to see what was up.  I
immediately got an MCH error.  Not a good sign, methinks.

So, now I'm trying to reIPL and see what happens.

The saga continues!
