Granted, not supported and not functional are two different things, however the 'word' is http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/v5r1hardware.html Now the V5R1 documentation recommended the 2761. However the V5R2 documentation yanks the 2761 and pushes the 2805 or 2806, (depending on your country). We have the 2805, and it does have a nasty tendency to fail, port by individual port. IBM hasn't given up yet and has sent me some testing equipment. http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/v5r2hardware.html Also future releases of OS/400 will not support SPD. http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/futurehdwr.html I love reading those statement of directions, like AIX on iSeries (SOD - April 2002). I guess the recent announcements confirmed that one. Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." It's listed by IBM as supported on V4R5 but might suffer performance limitations. It doesn't get mentioned at all on the hardware upgrade planning page for V5R1 or V5R2, and IBM's word is it's not supported. Now not supported and not functional are not necessarily the same, so I'm trying to find out if we can stick with it or have to find another solution first. We're planning to go to V5R2 via V5R1 (at V4R4 currently, so need the two step upgrade) so that's the level that needs to support the card. Having it work only at V5R1 would gain us some breathing space though.
