 >> Be still my beating heart! There is a vendor who uses ILE? My God,
there is hope!

There are vendors that do - and some that are converting - BUT sadly JDE is
not one of them. They have converted a couple of programs that would not
otherwise compile!! They claim it would be too expensive - this despite the
fact that several shops (one I met claimed to be a 3 man shop) converted JDE
in-house to RPG IV 'cos they were sick and tired of being hamstrung by JDE's
unwillingness to move their code into the 1990s.

One vendor that has changed is HBOC McKesson (and are still changing to
further exploit subprocs etc.). Another that we are involved with training
will be switching at their next release but since they haven't announced yet
....

Perhaps other folks could add to this list? It would be nice to have a
"list of fame / list of shame" of the vendors who are moving their apps
forward with RPG IV. My personal take is I don't want to deal with a vendor
who is forcing me to stay back in the 70s and won't even move me to the
1990s - let alone the 21st century.
