just rent one when doing your upgrade. Of course, the rent you pay _might_ end up costing as much as buying one now so it's worth doing the numbers.

For what it's worth, if you understand your applications and infrastructure well enough you ought to be able to migrate to another box, at least in my opinion.

Hmmm.  This is an interesting topic.  At some point I'm going to need to
upgrade my current box, which has no tape drive.  I had always assumed this
would primarily be a matter of saving to save files and copying them to the
new box.

Listening to this discussion, it seems that that may not be the case, eh?

Can anybody think of what gotchas I'm going to encounter when I go to
upgrade this box?
