Not all is lost. Same thing in DOS (Windows) or Unix is

   ftp host > logfile.txt

Hi Steve,

Maybe there are messages getting 'lost'? Try outputting the log to a PF,
as follows:
OVRDBF  FILE(OUTPUT)  TOFILE(FTP)  MBR(LOG)
and then check the content of that member.
