Alison,

Following are the directions I send to my customers on how to transfer
a save file to your AS/400.

Instructions for getting a save file from the PC World to
your AS/400

Note: Anyplace you see MYSAVF, replace it with the name of the save
file
you want to use. If in the PC world, you see MySavf.Svf, then replace
it with the name of the file as sent from Cornerstone Communications.

*** AS/400 Side ***
o Make sure FTP is started on your AS/400. Issue the command:

        STRTCPSVR SERVER(*FTP)

o Create an empty save file: CRTSAVF QGPL/MYSAVF

*** Windows 95/98/NT side ***

1. Start a Dos or Command prompt (Start, Programs, Explorer).

2. Navigate to the directory that you put the file we sent you.

3. type: "ftp xxxxx" (no quotes) and press enter. xxxx is the IP
address or TCP/IP host name of your AS/400. You will then be
prompted for a user ID and password. Enter these in.

4. Type "binary" (no quotes) and press enter. This will put you in
binary transfer mode

5. Now type:
        put MySavf.svf QGPL/MYSAVF (replace

And press enter.
6. Now type
        quit

And press enter.
7. Type
        exit

And press enter to exit the command prompt.

8. You are done with the PC Side.

You can now use RstObj or RstLib to restore the save file.

Subject: Unzipping and FTP

HI I am having a problem with a vendor. They sent a file as zipped and
said to unzip and FTP as a Saved File to the AS/400. I did all the
steps but on the 400 the file is blank.

I must be doing something wrong, but what.
