Just slide it into slot 7, it ain't rocket science...I can verify on my machine 
at home, and it can be had for around $300 via used parts resellers. And those 
resellers will be able to tell you the right slot for your particular 
configuration. At least, mine did.

I don't discount it, just would cost a bundle to get IBM to come
out and add the device. The 500 wasn't a do-it-yourself like the
170's and newer machines.
