After upgrading to V5R1 we encountered the following problem. We have a batch control file which holds the master record for detail records which could be in any one of three files. When a record is deleted from the control file we use a trigger to clean up the detail files. When this trigger attempts to launch an STRQMQRY to delete the records in the file we get an error that states SQL CONNECT is not allowed within a trigger. We have not implemented referential integrity mainly because the detail files are used to interface from multiple applications and languages including PC applications where the detail is written before the control record. Is there away around this or do I need to write an RPG program to read and delete these records ? Thanks John Hall
