I believe you need the OVRDBF, but not the shared ODP.

An alternative is a QM qrery - put this into a source member and CRTQMQRY
with it:

select * from custord where shpsts = ' '

Then STRQMQRY QRYNAME output(*outfile) outfile(libname/filename)

and then the CPYTOIMPF.

Morning all,

I have an Interesting issue, that I probably should know the
answer to but can't seem to recall..

CLP That does opnqryf selection from a PF.. Then is supposed to
use this ODP as the input to a cpytoimpf but the cpy is ignoring
the opnqryf and copying the entire file to the IFS.. What am I
missing, do I need an ovrdbf to specify an shared ODP ??

         TIA,
         JMS...

       OPNQRYF FILE((CUSTORD)) QRYSLT('SHPSTS = '' ''') +
                           OPNSCOPE(*JOB)

             CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(CUSTORD) +
                          TOSTMF('/GFBF/orders.txt') +
                          MBROPT(*REPLACE) RCDDLM(*CRLF)

             CLOF OPNID(CUSTORD)
