Could it be that what you mean by 'Cross platform' is that the client is always a Windoze PC. This isn't Cross Platform, its the Microsoft Monopoly. True Cross Platform means that the software can run on any system. Does this really exist, or is it still an academic aim. Java is close to cross platform, although developers often add OS specific features. Some platforms are not compatible with all the Java functions (eg. iSeries and Swing or AWT). The iSeries can perform just as well as any other type of server in the 'Cross Platform' environment. Syd Nicholson
