to print it out you need the following command.

PRTERRLOG  TYPE(*ANZLOG) PERIOD((*AVAIL &STRDAT)) +
          SELECT(*MEDIA) SORT(*DEVADR)

I used a CL to calculate the date  and had it in the scheduler

I would certainly remove the IBMIRD one at least temporarily, but as I
said, my experience is that the log wasn't much help in identifying dodgy
tapes.

Maybe you should get your operators or whoever does it to write down what
tapes are put in the drive and in what order, or write a CL to extract
this
information for you and hour or so before the backup.
