I've never had problems printing to the HP laser printers from the AS400 until
now. I have other laser printers ( HP9000 ) in the building working fine but
this particular printer will not.

I have the device description set properly, like the other *LAN defined HP
printers and with the correct IP address, but every time I attempt to start the
writer, it fails and gives me the standard C or R reply when trying to access a
device. I have rechecked the IP address and verified it is correct.

I have been successfully able to build a REMOTE OUTQUE to this printer and
print to it that way but I would prefer to have it defined with a Device
Description and a true *LAN class setup.
The printer is an HP8550 Colorjet printer with a JetDirect NIC. Is there some
onboard setting on the printer I need to change. The fact it prints via the
Remote Qutque method makes me suspicious there may be some minor setting I need
to change.

Anything specific to this particular printer would be appreciated.
