As far as I know, sockets are the fastest connection, which means you'll need to learn how to write a sockets program on the AS/400 to connect with the VB program. Scott Klement has what is reputed to be an excellent tutorial on this subject at http://klement.dstorm.net/rpg/socktut/ . If you are not averse to using the Client Access ODBC driver, I have some VB 4.0 modules that retrieve data from the AS/400, among other things. Donald R.
