64 megs is more than likely your culprit. How much is a 128 meg chip nowadays? $29 dollars? Buy a few and stick them in the pesky machines, see if it solves the problem. Prepare to be amazed. The savings in boot-up time alone on the PC makes the 196 megs worthwhile. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@MartinVT.com --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: midrange-l@midrange.com Date: Monday, December 09, 2002 12:43:14 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange. com Subject: iSeries Access for Windows problems? Hi all, We're currently attempting to install iSeries Access on all our desktops. The operations staff, who is doing the install, is running into occasional problems. We're attempting to install iSeries Access on W98 pc's with 64mg memory and a few users we're testing this out on are having problems (test users). This looks like a Windows problem, running out of memory or handles or something. One user who's having this problem is doing a lot of CA macros, filling in screens using the keyboard scripts. Is anyone else having this type of problem? Any suggestions? I'm the big proponent of getting the desktops upgraded, we're currently on V4R5 but will be installing V5R2 in about a month and I'm trying to get a head start on the desktops. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate hearing from you. TIA AS/Resources, Inc.
