Jeff, My response was basically tongue in cheek. It's just that everytime IBM wants to make it "easier", it ends up being more cumbersome. We have a full T1 to the internet and it still takes a couple of minutes for those applets in Infocenter to load and execute. I can't imagine what it would be like over a dial-up. As for the V3R1 and V3R6 CDs, we may have the V3R6 one laying around. I'll contact you privately if I can find it. Much less frustrating. Mark Walter Sr. Programmer/Analyst Hanover Wire Cloth a div of CCX, Inc. mwalter@hanoverwire.com Jeff's reply: Yes the books were good, but as the number of our AS/400s grew, and the 'active' vrm's too, the requirement for storage became quite ridiculous. I doubt that the trees would have a positive thing to say about hardcopy manuals, if we could ask them - perhaps we could ask Prince Charles to talk to them for us :-) I keep copies of all the OS/400 manuals, redbooks etc on my PC's hard-drive, from v2r3 to v5r2. As a consultant, I can go to any client and feel confident I will have the right manuals. I would need a lorry for all the real manuals! P.S. I'm still missing the v3r1 and v3r6 manual CD's. If anyone has them and no longer wants/needs them, I'd be most grateful. Jeff Bull DISCLAIMER Any opinions expressed in this email are those of the individual and not necessarily the Company.
