On last piece of advise. Putting your modified signon display named QDSIGNON in a library above QSYS in the system library list is not something I would recommend. I would suggest you name it something different and store it somewhere else (QGPL maybe) and then only change the SGNDSPF value for specific subsystems you want to have the new display file (maybe QINTER, QPGMR is you use that for interactive work, etc.). When you call it QDSIGNON and place it above QSYS the all subsystems will use it - including the controlling subsystem (as I presume you found out) preventing you from signing on anywhere. Not changing the signon display for QCTL could also make a system reload easier - for example if you stored the modified signon display anywhere other than in QSYS (from which you then did a SAVSYS that you;re restoring from) the signon display would not be found on the first IPL after reloading the operating system, forcing you to again mess around and manually IPL and go alter the system value for QCTLSBSD. ...Neil
