Thanks Vern.

Unfortunately, I have no control of the job which creates the print file. In
fact, the file could come from anywhere. I only have access to it after the
fact.

I'm not opposed to using an API. Does anyone have an example?

Thanks.

Albert

You can't change it on an existing spooled fiel (unless you use a
spooled
        file API - nasty things).

Can you put in an OVRPRTF before the program that writes to it? You
can
change PRTTXT there. Or you can do it with CHGJOB, but that'd affect
all
output, if the PRTF has *JOB for its PRTTXT attribute.
