How many interfaces are configured for your network card? I have this problem if I have more than one interface IP address on my network card. The telnet server binds to only one of the interfaces and I cannot access the system through the normal interface. Starting and stopping interfaces and/or the telnet server server corrects the problem. It would be nice to know how to tell telnet which interface to automaticaly bind to.
