Hi, Martin:

If you want to use IFS, then you'll need NAMEFMT 0.  This will allow
syntax such as:
   cd /home/someuser/maindir/subdir1/subdir2

The other is a way of expressing non-IFS stuff in an IFS-ish way.

:) I only ever use namefmt 1, so I hadn't realised that 'shortcut' doesn't
exist in namefmt 0. What reasons are there to use 0 over 1 - it seems too
limiting to me, particularly as (I assume) you can't do IFS stuff with
it.
