In this case you DO have to specify all of the fields in the table and their default values and their correct positions. There is another version where you specify the fields to load and their order, those unspecified will be filled with their appropriate default values: Insert into TestLib2/NewFile (fieldb, fielda, fieldz) Values(Select fieldb, fielda, fieldz from TestLib1/OrigFile) Bill
