I know a few people are noted for that (not to mention any "Al" names), but maybe if more of us wrote IBM about our concerns with their direction, lack of visible marketing (only marketing to the iSeries community it's self, not world in general) on the iSereis. I think the opening presentation at COMMON and what Buell Duncan said were great, but this is the thing that needs to get out to the Presidents, CEO's, CFO's, of corporations. Everyone there should have already known how great the iSeries is, and it's this kind of flash and hype that needs to get to the ones that make the decisions. I also think that iSeries line (S/3, S/36, S/38, AS/400) and Rochester (old GSD Company) have always be the bastard child in IBM Cooperate, and fact that it/them are so successful even without much (if any) support from Cooperate is a thorn in their sides, so even those that listen to us and can influence Cooperate have an up-hill battle. The more feed back we can give them, and the more we can hammer on the ones above them, maybe; just maybe; things will change. A few jousting at windmills can be laughed off, but in mass it is harder to ignore. -- Jim Lowary just my 2 cents The opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily the opinion of my company. >>> joepluta@PlutaBrothers.com 11/13/02 05:13PM >>> > I also think it would help if the system's manufacturer acted as if it > agreed with you. . . . Yeah, that's a different issue, and one I wish I knew how to address, although there seems to be at least some movement in the right direction. Time will tell if it's too little too late. ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
