Syd SAVSAVFDTA may have some tape-specific stuff in it, don't know. So may be try SAVOBJ with SAVFDTA(*YES) - this'll save the SAVF as a SAVF, instead of putting its contents on the DVD as if you save directly to the DVD. Maybe? Vern At 06:17 PM 11/6/2002 +0000, you wrote:
Hi Guys n Gals Can anybody help with this problem. I have saved an IFS directory to a save file and I am now trying to use the SAVSAVFDTA command to save the contents of that save file to the IBM DVD writer (a 6330-002 device). It is currently configured as OPT01. The command I am using is: SAVSAVFDTA SAVF(Library/SaveFile) DEV(OPT01) OPTFILE('/OptFileName') CLEAR(*REPLACE) No data is saved and I receive message CPD376E - Parameters not valid with optical device I have no problems saving the IFS directory directly to OPT01, and, I have no problems if the save file contains a library or objects from the QSYS file system. The problem seems to be specific to the IFS directories. I am trying to create a simple back up feature, that first backs up to SAVF, and then one or more copies of the saved data are copied to the back up media. I am using an iSeries 270 at V5R1M0, PTF level C2134510 Thanks in advance Syd Nicholson
