Yes, you can do it, but you have to be very careful. First if all, you can only use the CISC to RISC process to diagnose errors on the V2R3 side, secondly, you will have to rebuild QUSRSYS and QGPL by hand. In addition, I don't think you will be automatically able to move System Values, Network Attributes, Edit Descriptions, Service Providers, Service Attributes or Reply List Entries. The GO UPGRADE/UPGRADE2 menus are provided in V5R1, and this is a bug. Do not attempt to use them. IBM refused to remove them thinking that this would make more stuff break, although I think that the IBMers that made that decisions had not completely recovered from their lobotomies. There were problems restoring CISC authorities to V5R1, but I understand that they have been fixed, but I would ask about PTFs. Lastly, be SURE to do a RCLSTG on the CISC side first. RISC doesn't do a good job of cleaning up CISC crap, and you are likely going where no man has gone before. I would be happier seeing you move to V3R2 first on the CISC side. The S36 Environment is needed for those pgms to run, but no S36- machine, as I understand this is still available under V5, right ? What are your recommendations ?
