Try netstat *cnn and look for port 449, as-srvmap, as well as port 8476, as-signon. They need to be in listening state before you can connect. Two. On you PC go to the properties of you AS400 connection. Change the "Where to look up port" to standard and see if you can get in that way. If the port server mapper is not running, which it sounds like, this will bypass the port query and use standard CAE ports, provided you did not change the ports. If the server mapper is not running, give us a holler and we will attempt to debug that. Most likely the server profile does not have access to the database. Christopher K.
