Ok Paul - I'll make a serious suggestion.

Is there a user group for this company's software.

As I am in the UK I can't think off the top of my head of a software company
that has been through so many bankruptcies and buyouts
in 12 years - well I can think of one but I thought they protected their
software with dongles and didn't have much software on the
400 but on PC's.

If it's an international company they may have other users overseas.

It may not help with your situation but if there are more users co-operating
and bringing their combined weight to bear on the
company more might get done than just the individual companies.

Hope that makes sense - and is said sensibly.

Jamie

By audit, I meant going with the vendor to the site that is holding the
source code in escrow. Take the tape or CD to someplace that will
permit the library to be restored, and the verify that the version of
the source that is on the media at the escrow site matches what is on
the end-user's machine.

How many people ever go to this length?

Contracts say what the lawyers are told to write.
