Like Vern said - We don't need no stinkin' systems programmers. The only AS/400 shops I know of that have systems programmers are the ones that also have IBM mainframes. Jay...what type of information are you looking for? Go to the iSeries information Center: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/html/as400/v5r1/ic2924/info/rzahgicmain.htm As far as setting up systems (subsystems, memory pools, tuning, etc.) look under Systems Management in the Work Management guide. For configuration of communications between systems (TCP/IP, SNA, BSC, etc), look under Networking. There is also a plethora of Redbooks for the iSeries: http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/Portals/AS400 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jay Maynard" <jmaynard@conmicro.cx> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2002 2:02 PM Subject: ABCs of OS/400 administration? > IBM has an excellent series of (5!) Redbooks titled The ABCs of Systems > Programming, covering everything the aspiring OS/390 systems programmer > needs to know. Is there a similar work, either IBM or otherwise, for OS/400? > _______________________________________________ > This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list > To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l > or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. > >
