Jeff

I think the command you want is CPYFRMIMPF

depending on what version you are on you might have to get some PTF's to
install this command.

I am guessing that you are trying to copy delimitted data created by a
spreadsheet into an AS/400 database file.

Your workflow should be something like:

- Save excel spreadsheet to IFS (as someone else said try and avoid QDLS)
- FTP IFS file to IFS on other AS/400
- CPYFRMIMPF from IFS to database file

you could perhaps cut out the FTP using the QFILESVR.400 file system... but
maybe thats a story for another time after you get this working :)

Hope this helps

Ok, let me expand on this a little. The export.txt file was not created on
an AS/400 but is just stored there. It is actually an ASCII file created
from Excel. Whenever I try to use either EBCDIC or ASCII formats, it
tells me to use Binary. Namefmt 1 is the only format that will allow me to
go anywhere.

Do I need to copy it to the IFS on the local system and then do a
CpyfrmStmf to get it into the database?

Thanks,

Jeff Schmehl
