MaryLou, It's interesting that it only fails for one user. Hopefully the comparison will show why. But would it be any easier or 'cleaner' to think why the user needs this ? We have a similar situation where 2 users in each business team are designated printer-watchers. That is, they have an option to view all output with certain pre-defined userdata, regardless of who ran the job. They are trained when to do this, & it cuts down on calls to the help desk, as they are the first focal point for missing output. The option they take to do this runs a program owned by OPSSPL, a disabled profile with no password, which has *splctl. The program adopts authority, and these users are authorised to *USE the pgm.
