The DSN is already a system DSN, created dynamically by the program. Using SQL in the OpenRecordSet seems to work, as does using the SQL naming convention and underlines between library and file. Unfortunately, your suggestion of "Select * from library.file member" still opens the first member in the file and Access doesn't appear to recognize multiple members, either. Thanks. Donald R. (Don't know why, but VB6 won't recognize it any other way for me.) 2) Create a JET database, link the AS/400 table, and then use VB to access it via that link instead of trying to access it directly from the AS/400. Also, you may just be using the wrong naming convention, or VB4 may be forming the wrong names for you. The SQL convention is LIBRARY.TABLENAME, for ex.: "SELECT * FROM FOO.BAR BAR;" <clip>
