"User" would have been a better term.  But yes, IBM maintenance (support,
software subscription) was the implied "customer" relationship.   It's these
users who are likely to be upgrading the OS according to IBM's support
schedule.    I've assumed this is the largest group of users, but I could be
wrong.

James's list is what I was looking for.   A V3R7 spike is not too
surprising, but 30% is big.  Only makes me wonder what a larger sampling
would reveal.  Something IBM has likely tracked.

It's probably too much work, but it would be interesting if David Gibbs
could setup some general surveys on his website.
